Scenario #
A small online store sells reusable water bottles, lunch boxes and travel mugs. It wants to grow qualified organic traffic without creating a separate page for every minor keyword variation.
Your task #
- Choose one product category and collect at least 25 relevant query ideas using permitted keyword research sources.
- Record query, intent, audience need, topic cluster, likely landing page, evidence/source and priority.
- Group synonyms and close variants; identify informational, commercial and transactional intent.
- Recommend 5 priority topics and explain why they fit the business and its current resources.
- Map each priority cluster to one primary page or content brief to reduce cannibalization.
Submission #
Submit a spreadsheet plus a one-page rationale. Record the tool, date and assumptions. Search volume and difficulty are estimates, not guarantees.
Evaluation rubric (100 points) #
- Relevance and source quality: 20
- Intent classification: 20
- Clustering and page mapping: 20
- Prioritization rationale: 20
- Clear documentation and ethical data use: 20
Quality check #
Can another learner understand why each keyword belongs to a cluster and what page should satisfy it? Avoid selecting topics solely because a tool reports high volume. Do not copy competitor content or use unauthorized scraping.
